I hope you all had a great Fourth of July holiday in the US. I was able to spend some time with my husband and in-laws in Port Aransas, Texas. It was a lot of fun and yes, I got some reading done.
Last Week’s Reads:
I got really lucky this week as every book was a pick for me.
The Stationary Shop – Listened to this one on Audiobook. This was such a sweeping story that spans 50 years.
I’ll Never Tell – this was a galley I received, and it was a solid mystery told in multiple POV’s and timelines. This did not have a typical structure, as you kind of worked backwards to figure the mystery out.
Garlic and Sapphires – Read this for Modern Mrs Darcy Book Club. This memoir is so good, because the author is just charming. Reichl writes about her times as the Chief Restaurant Critic for the NYTimes.
Daisy Jones & The Six – This was my second time reading this and did this on Audiobook, so much better. The story comes alive with this full cast narration.
The Marriage Clock – This one was also a Galley that comes out July 23rd. This was such a cute book about a girl who is given 3 months to find a husband or her parents will arrange one for. This has an unexpected ending which I loved.
Currently Reading:
The Whisper Network – I am listening to this one on Audiobook and it is so good. This book fits with the times. She is spot on, that I get uncomfortable at times, but so far well worth it.
Good Girl, Bad Girl – I received this Galley and really liking this one. I am 20% in, and I just want to take a break so I can continue this story.
I am not sure what else I will read this week, but there is always plenty of books. I hope you all have a great week reading.
