Hi Everyone, hope you had a great week reading. I saw another read-a-thon was going on this weekend. For those of you who participated, I hope you all hit your personal goals. Personally, while I feel like I read a lot, it is hard for me to have that much solid time in a row. Because I work from home (which is super great), my errands tend to be all saved up for the weekend.
On that note, I did have a pretty good week of reading. There were several books I marked as DNF, but I will only discuss the books I did finish.
The Last House Guest – I have to honest to say that I am not a fan of Megan Miranda. I was not going to read this book, until Reese Witherspoon selected this for her Book Club book. Unfortunately, nothing has changed, and this book disappointed me. I know lots of readers love her, I think she is just not for me.
Three Women – This was such an interesting book. It was amazing that Taddeo spent so many years with these women. Three very different stories. There was one story, that I was in tears over, while there was one, that I could not get behind at all. Overall, intriguing and very much worth all the hype.
Beneath the Attic – This is a prequel of Flowers in the Attic. It is terribly written, but despite that I loved it. This brought me back to my youth and all my pre-teen and early teenage years reading these books. If you want nostalgia, I recommend this book. Release Date August 27, 2019
Never Have I Ever – This was my favorite new book of the week. This is a departure from Jackson’s other books, but I absolutely loved it. This is a domestic mystery. If you are a fan of Big Little Lies this book is so much better.
Pride and Prejudice – What is there to say. This is a reread for me for the Modern Mrs. Darcy Book Club. Austen is great and this book is wonderful no matter how many times I read it. Though, I have to mention Persuasion is my favorite Austen.
We Went to the Woods – I am slipping this one in, since I finished this first thing this morning. I did not like this book. It felt like a book about farming. Dolan-Leach tried to give this a mystery element, but it was just too late to care.

Currently Reading:
Patsy– My Current Audiobook. This is a immigrant story of a woman who leave her daughter behind in Jamaica to move to New York.
Hollow Kingdom – Just started this, but so far so good. Post-apocalyptic novel, told from the perspective of animals. Has a lot of comedic elements
Cold Storage – This is my next ARC that I will likely start later today. Another post-apocalyptic novel, much more thriller than Hollow Kingdom.
What was your favorite book this week, and what do you plan on reading? Let’s add more to our TBR’s.
Hope you all have a great week reading.
