Happy Monday All! I hope y’all enjoyed your extra hour for the end of Daylight Savings. This was an eventful week, we unexpectedly have a new kitten, Charley, and we are already in love with her, but I can’t say our other kitties feel the same yet. Also, Saturday was my husband’s birthday. I just love when a birthday falls on a weekend day. I also managed to get 7 books in, I totally feel that my reading slump is over.

Twenty-one Truths About Love – This story is entirely told in lists. You might not think that this works, but it totally did. This is about a late-thirties bookseller, who is dealing with a lot of insecurities about his business, wife and impending fatherhood. It is funny and thoughtful. Publication Date November 12, 2019
The Twisted Ones – I was looking for a horror story to read for Halloween, when low and behold Liberty Hardy from All the Books Podcast recommended this book. I did this as an audiobook and I have to say this was a pretty creepy story, especially because I listened this on my very early walks in complete darkness. This was a perfect read for Halloween.
The Existence of Amy – The author sent me a copy of this book, and I am so glad she did. This is a book I would have never found if it was not for that. This a contemporary fiction that deals with a young woman who has severe OCD and Depression. It goes into a lot of detail of the perspective of the person living with mental illness. I often think we read stories with these topics, but we are on the outside looking in, this was totally different. Very engaging story.
Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts – I so wanted to love this one, but it fell pretty flat for me, similar to the author’s last book. It had a very strong start, but started to lose me about a third of the way in. This book centers around a scavenger hunt, but in reality that is peripheral, and this is more of a character study. This was just not what I really wanted.
The Dream Daughter – The surprise read of the week for me. I have had this on my shelf for a year now, but read it for the first Currently Reading Podcast book club. This was just a wonderful story. If you love The Time Traveler’s Wife or Time After Time, I think this book will be right in your wheelhouse. So many surprises in this one, even to the very last page.
Nothing to See Here – I read this for Read with Jenna, but I knew I was going to read this because I love Kevin Wilson. This one does not disappoint. Though the premise is completely unbelievable, you get over that real fast. This story really takes a life of it’s own. You will cheer for this ragtag group of people to come out on top.
The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek – I have already stated why I chose to read this book in my previous blog posts. There is much written on this already. What I want to focus on here, is that was such a beautiful story about something I never knew happened. This surrounds the packhorse librarians of Kentucky and also something else I never heard of a blood disorder that turned people blue. This was such a love story to librarians. Even in the toughest times, a book will make somebody’s day.
What did you all read this week?
The Bookwoman sounds incredible, thanks for putting it on my radar!

It was really good, I am mildly interested in the Giver of Stars which is causing all the issues for this book, but enough to buy or support that book. I will look out for other people’s opinions.
